| Abstract | The results of researches of metal surfaces roughness and adhesion of thermal spray coatings after needle-milling of the metal substrate are presented. The optimal parameters of the process to ensure maximum roughness are defined. It is shown that the strength of adhesion of metallic coatings after needle-milling does not satisfy the requirements of most parts of friction. The needle-milling process may be recommended for surface preparation prior to application of corrosion-resistant polymeric coatings only. | ||||
