Abstract

The mathematical modeling of the stress-strain state of the periodontal ligament for the translational displacement of the tooth root is carried out. The tooth root is absolutely rigid body and the periodontal ligament has a constant thickness. The solution for the displacements of the periodontal ligament is formulated in the plane stress state conditions. The boundary conditions correspond to the translational motion of the root in the force direction. The external surface of the periodontal ligament in the tooth alveolus is fixed. The expressions for the displacements of the periodontium points depending on the radial and circumferential coordinates are obtained. Comparative analysis of the magnitudes of concentrated forces for a fixed translational displacement of the tooth root on the basis of the proposed analytical model and the models in the form of an incompressible periodontal circular paraboloid and hyperboloid is carried out.

Keywords periodontal ligament, translational displacement of the tooth root, stress-strain state of the periodontium, equilibrium of the tooth root in the periodontal ligament

Abstract The results of researches of metal surfaces roughness and adhesion of thermal spray coatings after needle-milling of the metal substrate are presented. The optimal parameters of the process to ensure maximum roughness are defined. It is shown that the strength of adhesion of metallic coatings after needle-milling does not satisfy the requirements of most parts of friction. The needle-milling process may be recommended for surface preparation prior to application of corrosion-resistant polymeric coatings only.

Abstract The structure and microhardness of electrodeposited Ni-P coatings subjected to low temperature annealing at 520 K have been investigated. It is shown that the low-temperature annealing of crystalline Ni-P coatings is accompanied by a significant increase in the lattice parameter of the solid solution of phosphorus in nickel as well as the increase in microhardness of the coatings. It is concluded that the increase of microhardness and lattice parameter of Ni-P solid solution during annealing occurs due to the transition of the phosphorus atoms from the substitution positions to the interstitial positions processed by the dissociative Frank and Turnbull mechanism.

Abstract

Article is devoted to the experimental evaluation of cutting ability with modified by ECoDM strips work surface. The article shown that making the cutting ability of surface provided by forming thereon during ECoDM recesses (holes) with the edges of the solidified metal nodules. Found that the height of the sag determined by the capacitance of the storage capacitor and the voltage on it, which increases with increasing it. Experimentally proved that these structural elements are capable of shooting chips when cutting materials whose hardness is lower than the hardness of the steel strips. The experimental results, reflecting the influence of height on working surface sagging strips on the intensity of cutting its range of materials. Proceeding from the peculiarities of the process of sawing materials such tool, developed recommendations for the practical use of the research results.

Abstract To determine the crack growth resistance of tubes made of ductile steel using of approaches of linear elastic fracture mechanics it is incorrectly due to non-compliance with the conditions of plane strain. One of the variants of solutions to the problem lies in the extrapolation formulas for linear elastic fracture mechanics for stress intensity factor at a substantially nonlinear stage of deformation using functions amendments of the plasticity. The results of the cyclic crack growth resistance tests for samples made of tube steel on the basis of a new engineering-stock approach are given. The evaluation of crack growth life for tubes of linear part of the pipeline in the presence of dangerous longitudinal semi-elliptical crack at a given level of irregular operational loading and taking into account long-term (over 30 years) exposure to damaging factors are carried out.
