Abstract |
The paper is devoted to the definition and implementation of the conditions for carrying out electrical discharge machining, providing the formation of the surface with a partially regular micro-relief. On the basis of analysis of the micro-relief the conditions of its preparation on a metal surface during electrical discharge machining (EDM) are determined. In particular, it is shown that it is necessary to provide accurate and controlled location of exposure to it of electrical discharge, i.e. the spot of forming thereon of a single hole, and it is necessary to provide controlled movement of the surface relating to the electrode-tool in the time period between two sequential discharges. The description of the developed device for electrical discharge machining, implementing these conditions is demonstrated, and the main provisions of the techniques of experimental research are given. On the basis of analysis of the obtained data it is experimentally confirmed that the maintenance of the above mentioned conditions of electrical discharge machining allows it to form partially regular micro-relief on the surface and to control its parameters easy enough and in a wide range. |
