Abstract Operational indicators of wheeled vehicles (WV), consumption of fuel and lubricants, urea, speed of cargo delivery, have always been and remain one of the key factors ensuring their high efficiency. To improve the efficiency of WV, specialists of KAMAZ PTC have developed and apply in practice both standardized methods of research of these indicators and original methods with appropriate instrumental support. Design and research departments are equipped with tools for analytical calculations, computer modeling, laboratory-road and operational tests, as well as bench equipment for determining input data for calculation models and their validation. The first part of the paper presents the experience of analytical studies. In the second part, the methods of computational and experimental studies will be outlined.
Keywords wheeled vehicle, operational fuel consumption, average speed, operating conditions, engine, transmission
