Abstract The paper presents an overview of research in the field of aerodynamics of bluff bodies and some useful flows which are used in theoretical studies on the aerodynamics of aircraft. The possibilities and reserves of increasing consumer properties of vehicles are shown due to improved aerodynamics. Had been demonstrated some results of work carried out at KAMAZ. This review is done using the published materials and does not claim to be exhaustive.
