Abstract

Scientific background and sources of Lifetime mechanics of machines (LMM) are presented. Stages of development, approaches and methods of LMM are described with the focus on resource issues. A number of promising innovations are considered. The reasons for the decline of competitiveness of domestic technically complicated items (TCI) are summarized, the necessary conditions for effective scientific and organizational support for the creation of innovative TCI are formulated.
