Abstract

It is shown that the dispersed phase of the complex sulfonate calcium grease is a combination of nano-calcite particles in a stabilizing shell made from amphiphilic liquid-crystalline polymers. These particles are united in a mobile spatial framework due to various intermolecular forces. The similar structure of the dispersed phase ensures the formation at the high level of the whole complex of physical and tribological properties required for modern greases without the use of special additives. The complex sulphonate calcium greases are intended for use in heavy-loaded and high-temperature friction units of a wide range of machinery and equipment.
