Abstract

An engineering method of an approximate estimate of the actual coefficient of overlap depending on the load acting in engagement for spur gears of external engagement with the theoretical overlap ratio 1< εTα< 2 is proposed. The method can be used at the stage of preliminary calculations of gears, in particular, in estimating of the load capacity and life, and in their production and selective assembly.
