Abstract The article presents the analysis of technical requirements for automobile tires, which have a direct impact on the safety of wheeled vehicles by increasing the adhesion of tires to a support surface with low adhesion coefficients, wet asphalt, rolled snow and ice, as well as on the environmental characteristics of tires, wheel rolling resistance and sound level reduction when driving on asphalt. The scientific novelty is the research aimed at limiting the abrasive wear of the tire tread, the development of test methods for its assessment during road and bench tests. The uncertainties and possible systematic and accidental errors that occur during tire testing are analyzed, which may affect the results of supervision in the market of tire products released on the basis of primary certification. The analysis is carried out of the application of international norms — UN Regulations and UN Global Technical Regulations on tires in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, as well as in the Eurasian Economic Union as a whole. Recommendations are offered on the early application of modern technical requirements for tires in the Union State countries in comparison with the Technical Regulation “On the Safety of Wheeled Vehicles”.
