Abstract Features for creation of mathematical models for dynamic calculations of multibody systems on their transitional modes with changing the system states and the direction of power flows are considered. Such typical processes are as follows: switching on and switching off a clutch, starting the vehicle, gear shifting, wheels slipping, blocking and an unblocking of vehicle wheels under braking. Characteristic errors of dynamic calculations are analyzed. The concept of regular mechanical system regarding requirements to the mathematical models describing changes of a system state, and also to describing losses in transmission mechanisms is developed. The correct mathematical models reproducing conditions of connection and disconnection of frictional components taking into account features the discrete computer are presented. Procedure for identification of the direction of the power flows passing through devices-transfers is described; features of a technique of dynamic calculation taking into account losses in such devices are given.
