Abstract Abrasive wear resistance of typical precipitation hardened Ni-Cr alloys with various volume fraction of γ′-precipitates and different mismatch factor Δν/ν of crystal lattices of matrix and precipitates was investigated. Based on the results obtained it was concluded that the application of the alloys with negative mismatch factor (Δν/ν < 0) as friction joints is not suitable because of low abrasion and adhesive wear resistance of these alloys.
Keywords precipitation hardening alloy, interphase deformations, abrasion wear
